In a video that has sparked widespread online outrage, a man allegedly grabbed an employee in the air and pulled him to the ground in a busy Melbourne street.
The video has since been shared on social media by a woman who claims to be the employee’s former employer, with the man saying he has been fired.
In the video, which has since gone viral, the man can be heard saying: “I’ve been here for eight years, I’ve been working for your company.
You don’t want me to go.
You just want me gone.”
He then grabs the employee, who is heard screaming in pain, and throws him to his back, before running away.
He is seen on video yelling: “Go get a job, you little ****, you ****.
Go get a life.””
I don’t know what happened, but I’ve just got a video of you in my office,” the man allegedly says.”
I’ve had enough of your ******* job.”
A source close to the employee says the employee was “absolutely shocked” by the alleged assault and was “distressed” by what he had seen.
“We’re a pretty quiet place,” the source told the ABC.
“He’s got a family.
He’s got kids.
This is a little bit of the shock of the day for him.
He thought he was going to get his money back.”
Police said the man has been charged with assaulting a person with intent to cause injury.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
