A former Verizon technician who died after being bullied online after she quit her job has been found dead in her home, police said.
Carrie Culp, 35, was found dead Sunday morning at a home she shared with her husband in the small town of St. Johnsville, Kentucky, the St. Johnsville Police Department said.
The cause of death is pending toxicology tests, the police said in a news release.
Culp was an IT technician who joined Verizon in 2003 and worked at the company’s headquarters in New York City, according to her LinkedIn page.
She had quit her position in 2014 after the company decided to hire an IT contractor instead of her.
She was one of the few female IT workers to receive a full-time job with the company.
Culp worked in a different building from the one where she died, police Chief Thomas Gaddis said.
