A telecom engineer’s job is to engineer new technologies that connect our devices, like the internet.
But in a new study, researchers from the University of Washington have found that a person who spends a couple of years working on telecom engineering could make as much as $1,9 million in wages, including salary, bonus and other benefits.
The study was published Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
“If you’re a telecom engineer who has to design and implement new devices in the marketplace, then you’re going to have to pay attention to your pay.
If you’re the highest paid person in the field, that’s going to increase,” said Mark Ritchie, a senior research scientist at the University who co-authored the study.
“So, you’ve got to make sure that you’re making a good enough salary that you can support yourself.”
Ritchie and his colleagues looked at the pay of two people who had worked on telecom devices since 2011.
They looked at each person’s salary and benefits, along with data from federal payroll databases.
They then looked at how much each person made in 2012, compared to the year before and the year after.
They also looked at their average weekly pay and how much it would have cost them if they were in the same job category.
“Our conclusion was that we can’t do anything about the salary, because we don’t know how much the compensation actually changes over time,” Ritchie said.
“We can’t change the amount of money that you make or how much money you earn in the future, because that’s what it’s going from paycheck to paycheck.”
The study found that the average telecom engineer made $3,939 in 2012 and $4,857 in 2013, but their average hourly pay in 2012 was $7.30, up from $6.75 in 2013.
Pay in the telecom industry has been stagnant for years.
The average hourly wage for an engineer is just over $15 per hour, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
But Ritchie noted that even if the average pay in the industry were to increase, it would be very difficult to make the jump to $1 million a year.
“It’s not something that you could achieve,” Rigo said.
In addition, the study found an additional cost for the engineer’s pay, which ranged from $2,700 to $3.25 per hour.
“The total compensation for these guys is about $1 to $2 million,” Raney said.
Ritchie pointed out that most of these people had worked in the telecommunications industry for less than a year and they had only worked a few months.
“But that’s the norm, for these people.
They have a long career in the technology industry,” he said.
However, there are exceptions.
A person with at least five years of experience could earn up to $6 million in salaries and benefits in the Telecommunications Industry, according the study, which was published online in the journal PNAS.
The other study found a person with five years’ experience in the manufacturing industry could earn $7 million in salary and $10 million in benefits.
“That’s pretty good, because you’re doing work for a large corporation,” Richey said.
For someone who has only worked for a couple years, the average salary for a telecom employee could increase to $8.50 per hour or more, Ritchie added.
“They’re really working on a very large scale, with a lot of technology,” Rigosy said of these engineers.
